Description
General purpose Cup Brushes mounted on a steel core with RECORD crimped wire fill. Available in standard brush diameters, the core can be provided with a range of plain or threaded bore diameters to suit your mounting system.
- RECORD
Brushes filled with crimped wires for the removal of rust, primer and paint, and cleaning of surfaces
How to obtain the ideal brushing effect
If the brushing effect is too weak
Increase the peripheral speed by increasing the brush diameter or operating speed, decrease the trim length or increase the diameter of the fill material. Never exceed the maximum safety speed.
If the brushing effect is too powerful
Reduce the peripheral speed by reducing the brush diameter or operating speed, increase the trim height or decrease the diameter of the filling material.
If the surface finish too rough
Increase the peripheral speed by increasing the brush diameter or operating speed, increase the trim height or decrease the diameter of the filling material. Never exceed the maximum safety speed.
If the surface is finish too smooth
Reduce the peripheral speed by reducing the brush diameter or operating speed, decrease the trim length or increase the diameter of the filling material.
Note: Excessive operating pressure or penetration depth will reduce the service life of the brush. The tips of the brush do the work with only a light pressure of 1 to 2.5 mm
Safety information
The DIN standard EN 1083-2 governs the safety requirements imposed on power-driven brush tools.
The safety speed indicated on the brush, the label or the packaging must never be exceeded. In some cases the recommended working speed is significantly below the maximum safety speed. The speed of the driving machine must never exceed the safety speed of the brush too. In order to increase the safety when working with power-driven brush tools, please observe the following measures.
Storage
Brush tools must always be stored in the relevant containers and suitable rooms, and be protected from deformation. Brush tools must be protected from water, acid, vapours or other substances that can cause damage.
Application
Always check brush tools prior to use for any signs of damage. If damaged, the brushes must be disposed of. Only mount brush tools on machinery with the aid of suitable clamping fixtures. When working with shaft-mounted brushes the brushes must be clamped securely into the drill chuck.
Protection
All persons in the work area must wear suitable eye protection during the brushing process. Protective cases on machines must not be removed. Suitable ear protectors must be worn if noise levels exceed the limiting value and when brushing work is carried out always take the relevant safety precautions (extraction system, dusk masks).
Disposal
Worn or damaged brushes must be disposed of correctly in accordance with local authority directives.
Because of the wide variety of machine types and applications, it is essential to follow the safety instruction and basic safety measures listed here. For more information and advice please look up the relevant laws, regulations, safety specifications and standards.
